The hunter that gave me a tip yesterday said that they had tamed the other rare in the area "Karoma" at around pm EST.

One time I waited 12 hours and nothing, got tired and gave up. Had work the next day, came home and camped him for four hours and nothing again. Luckily I didn't have my other pet out so it was quick for me to just land, target, and tame. Thankfully no idiot around came to gank me. At the spot just north of Victor Point. It took me a week but I managed to tame him after advertising a 2, gold reward if someone saw him. Got a whisper and I literally raced another Hunter over to him. I tamed him by Victor's Point. If you really want this pet I strongly suggest that you offer a gold reward in general chat, it does not have to be 2, gold i'm sure I would've been able to get away with giving the person gold I just wanted the damn pet.

Finding it yourself is possible but people especially on my realm are jackasses, i've heard far too many horror stories of people finding Gondria's courpse and such, offer a gold reward, do yourself a favor! So it seems that many hunter may be running around with him even though they are not BM spec. But of course if you are not BM spec then good for you since you can get this lovely cat. Still with no luck, I flew the rest of the way down to Victor's Point the last spawn point I hadn't yet re-checked and thankfully he was there! Dropped an ice trap and started tame beast. Panic over! Been looking for 3 nights straight. Nearly lost my cool when npcscan went off and i couldnt actually find him!

Also, i had been talking to another hunter all day, who tamed him 2 days ago, and he tamed him at the spot below the twilight breach, but not exactly the points marked on this map. I looked for him for a day and a half off and on. As I had work to do I logged in on my laptop so I could work on my other computer. Bad decision as the ultranav trackpoint instead of a mouse almost cost me the tame.

The first try I fumbled things so badly I died and made the most frantic corpse run of my life. There were fellow hunters flying by every 20 seconds it seemed and I was sure I had lost him.

But I was fortunate to get another try and got to welcome him into the family. BTW, he aggros very easily from a distance, so be ready. But, assuming you are not using a foreign computer he's pretty straightforward as to tame. Good hunting!

Seem him several times over a week at the eastern most spawn which I camped the most. Missed him twice just barely. This is between the 2nd and 3rd area shown on the map above.

Nice pet, looks like he belongs in any realm unlike the Deep Spiders that really looked out of place in theTwilight Hightlands. First fly by of tame sight, no Sambas. By the time I'd made a full lap from here to near the Krazzworks and back he had spawned. I flew in low and npc scan went nuts, so I tried to sight him and dismount asap, turns out he was right underneath me chewing on my netherray. I tagged him with scatter shot, and tamed him straight after, happy new year to me lol.

This is my first post on this site so bear with me. I was looking for Sambas since I'd say Tuesday. I would sit patiently at the spot that he was rumored to appear most frequently at victor's point. Well I would camp him off and on for 24hrs and I was joined by another hunter Dizarrow. We kind of kept each other sane on the road to camping this guy. On one of the rare occassions that I needed to sleep, I woke up logged on and Diz pm's me to let me know he caught Sambas.

I was angry for not being able to stay awake a bit longer, but happy that someone finally tamed him and I could sleep lol. Yesterday December 31, While I was about to go out to dinner with friends of my girlfriend I told her let me take one more sweep of the land before we head out. Lo' and behold but who should be just pacing along his path but Sambas I at first was tense but having learned my mistake with Aotona, I got my bearings Needless to say I tamed him without a hitch.

I think this pet is the perfect fit for the name of the guild I'm in "Feroce". My name is Songkeeper, and I tamed Sambas around the Thundarmar area. Time: P. Now on to figuring out a name for him. Absolutely love him. I can't recall doing more than using the restroom during this search. December 30th was the date I tamed him on Dalaran server around 9ish pm. He was in the I went circled his route and rarely just camped in one spot, I eventually gave up on checking the actual area I found him in because I've heard more stories of him being near Victors point and near the town.

After about 10 minutes I got bored and did one last FULL lap around all of his locations, and sure enough there he was just pacing around. I was shaking so bad I could hardly click the "tame" button. But I did, and it felt like sweet victory because during my time came running a blood elf hunter, sucks for him. As soon as I started leaving, a DK in general asked if any hunters were looking for Sambas. A couple distracting shots and a ice block later, Sambas is now safely with me :D I'm unsure now if the worgen I saw earlier had just tamed him or just happened to have him out at his spawn point as this would have only been a 3 hour respawn. Heres what i know: He spawns every hours, hes the second lion in the game, Theres some in barrens but not as cool. He is hostile. If they use petopia im more then sure they've seen him. If your on a high pop server and you really want him transfer to a low pop server or wait a few months.

If any of you guys have any tips for me you can find me on garithos pvp alliance worgen named rippir. Please just send me a whisper with any tips.

Comment by Giresse I have him and actually use him as my primary pet, mainly due to the Roar of Courage buff to my Agility. While doing my dailies in Twilight Hinterlands, you can't imagine the number of players who swoop down on me because NPCScan alerted them to Sambas in the area.

The day of capture I stayed at Vic's point for most of the time and would fly off to the other locations from time to time. Started my route at 2pm server time and caught him at said time.

After hours of sitting at Victors I decided to check the other locations only to return to Victors Point to see another hunter happily taming him He had spawned at pm on January 5th at the Victors Point location. I come back 2 hours later to camp again randomly flying over all the spawn points when he finally spawned at am on January 6th at the Kirthhaven Location - Cords approx.

He was EASY to tame with no traps, no tricks. He does this weird bouncing around trick but it does not break the taming process. NPC Scan's alarm can be a bit slow.

I have an affinity for the rares, I've spent hours mashing macros and flying over the areas that I would hope my future pet would spawn in. I lvld BM just so I could use my spirit beast that I'd spent so many hours trying to get.

Here's my advice:!. If you're using NPCScan, it works. You just have to make sure that Sambas isn't already cached, and there are clear instructions on how to clear your cache if he is on curse's website.

Read all the wowhead posts, pay attention to the posts that pertain to your server. The real fun in this game is being able to spend some time with people that you enjoy playing this game with. I freaked out, spammed mount, flew over , and started taming. Spam dismiss, CRAP! What now I ask myself, FD and he disappears. Luckily I see him pop up about 30 yards away drop an ice trap and tame away. Awesome pet. I mostly did it late at night since I tend to keep a weird sleeping schedule these days, figured I'd have less comp.

Towards the end, a friend came and covered the far east spot so I just patrolled the other four. Spawned as I was passing by the one west of the dwarf town.

Tamed it, nobody else ever came in sight. Lucky me A priest named Candid responded to my call in general and after a few seconds i had him.

I named him Maharaja and the priest got his present : Be patient looking for it. He was in at the Victor's Point coordinates roaming a bit. There were a few other hunters looking for him at the time and the NPC scan going off about gave me a heart attack! So happy! Comment by am server time Realm: Akama I had been after this pet since the begining and never got lucky enough to find him most likely because the horde kept taming him. However, I was questing in the highlands on my pally when someone shouted over general that they tamed him Sad that it was not me I was still estatic because now I knew the approximate time of his spawn, about 8 or 12 hours from that time. Woke up, 3 hours before 8 hour timer, geared my pally and had just finished the dungeon when it hit the 8 hour mark, i dashed over on my hunter, looked starting from the east then to west spawn points.

As I move my way to the last 2 spawn points I noticed a red dot, looked over to make sure it wasn't a horde pet only to FREAK OUT when i saw that it was Sambas, giggle like a school girl as I tamed and when crazy with joy when it was the tame finished. Very cool pet, looks cool on my dwarf hunter wish it could ride shotgun in my motorcycle, but still very glad I have it.

My advice: Although NPCscan is not necessary it still would be wise to use it, be sure to quest on alts there so you might chance on someone revealing when it spawned. Good luck and God Speed. He spawned to the east of the little Horde FlightPlan marker on the map within the cluster of dots at pm server on Anvilmar.

I then got chatting to a fellow hunter who was after him too, and ironically we had both just arrived in the zone after going about our own business elsewhere. This lion hits HARD. He resisted my trap and proceeded to tear seven kinds of hell out of me. As I began the tame, I was worried I wasn't going to survive long enough to complete it. However, it turned out not to be an issue and I had about half my health left when the tame finished.

If you are looking for this pet and you do not have NPCScan or a similar addon, I would recommend getting one. He was not in prowl, but I definately would not have spotted him without the alert from the addon, he's surprisingly well camouflaged against the ground from above.

Although having said that, I wasn't really seriously searching for him, I was on a mining spree and happened to get lucky.

Taylern Horde Quel'thalas EU. This after a week of on and off camping for him. NPC went off just as I landed and used ice trap and he was an easy tame Good luck all who are seeking him out and thank you to those who dont kill him! Jazzleigh on Moon Guard.

I had been there all evening, doing laps as many tend to do while interspersing that with occasional camping for a few minutes on and off, but mostly keeping myself mobile between all the different spawn points. Had some fun conversation with the other hunters in the area, sang the FUN song, nearly fell asleep on the keyboard. I grabbed myself a drink of cola and swung around to do another lap when NPCscan hoots at me!

Lo and behold, the golden king himself is there amongst the trees. I swoop down and instantly start taming. I didn't need to use a trap, he didn't hit that hard.

As I was about halfway done taming, one of the other hunters I'd been chatting with came in, to her disappointment I imagine. Best of luck to you guys, keep at it! I was orginally standing in the middle of that green square facing bloodgulch but it had spawned north of me in the middle of some trees.

Two days earlier, it had spawned east of me near 43,39 at am while I flew towards Thundermar. The same day, Karoma was tamed at pm SW of dragonport. I've heard that Sambas and Karoma and maybe Ghostcrawler may spawn within minutes of each other. That's possible and many hunters have gotten lucky with that. I haven't had that happen and my own experience was that they spawned at different times. However, I noticed that the npc would spawn within the hour between 20 and 50 minutes.

For instance, Sambas spawned at , then Karoma at etc. BUT, that's my own experience. Also, for many hunters out there, you may notice that Sambas and many others may set off your npc scanner but it wont locate the npc. The npc scan might even say that the mob is tameable.

Most likely it's not, someone took out their pet and set it off. That happened to me like 4 times. It's very frustrating.

If someone needs info. I can post it for ya. Keep in mind that if you manually put Sambas and others into the npc scan. Just put the ID which can be found in thr url and the npc name.

So if you ever come close to him it'll target Sambas and put up a Skull Icon.

Or you can even add other rare's names so that it works for multiple targets. Coord's 42,9. He sees me and before I could move and throw a trap-he pounced at me. I laid a trap quickly and started taming. Then my new little man cub was ready to eat his meal, and accompany me in my journey's through WOW.

I've sat at all spawn area's for hours, I flew around, searching, sitting and waiting for over a week. A few alarms went of days ago-some were others pet Samba's I must have logged 24hrs all together looking for him. I think it was about an 12 hour spawn time. Funny thing is I was camping this exact spot for like 3 hours and watching TV. I finally decided to queue for a dungeon and got into one and 5 minutes into it, one of the people still in the zone tells me it's up and to come now, lol.

I never left a dungeon group so fast, and I rewarded the person generously. Good luck to the rest of you. Based on an earlier post that said Cataclysm rares are on a 6 hour timer, I set my alarm for am this morning and patrolled his spawn points for an hour. I went back to bed and got up for work later this morning.

I checked just before leaving for work and starting from the far western spawn point, I got to the next spawn point to the northeast and my NPC Scan went off.

At first I thought it was a false alarm because my NPC Scan had gone off when I was looking for him at am but it was another hunter that had him as a pet already. Also, for hunters with rare spawns, please do other hunters a favor and don't use your rare spawn in the zone you found them.

It really does screw up other hunters seeking the same pet if they're using NPC Scan and rare hunting without it is like throwing sand in your eyes.

Okay this is the scoop for Stormrage and Sambas. According to my records he was also tamed on Stormrage at am at 42, This gives us about a 12 hour spawn time. Easy to tame. Just set down my ice trap and he was mine. Good Luck hunting! Comment by Velllieda I actually found him pretty quickly.

I just turned 85 in the Twilight highlands. So i mounted up and started to fly to the orgrimar portal at the dock.

But while i was flying with track beasts on a red dot appeared on my mini-map and said Sambas. I was like wow. So i flew down and guess what. A shaman was killing him. I pleaed to him to stop so i could tame. So he gladly stopped ,knowing the drops were no good, and let me tame. So now i have my brand new cat called Sambas. I'd hate to start looking for him, only to never see him because I've only finished a few quests in Twilight Highlands.

I checked to see if he spawned 6 h 9 h and 12 h. Hunters who already had sambas would stand around his spawn points and make my npcscan go off then I would have to clear my cache. When I asked they said they were helping a friend look for him. Be carful and good luck. I had been circling the spawn locations for around 4 hours non-stop, so he couldn't have spawned more than a minute before I found him. I was using NPCScan, which went off and scared the daylights out of me, but it worked like a charm. The four hours and new pair of undies were worth the wait, this pet is gorgeous. Also managed to farm 8 stacks of Twilight Jasmine in that time, which will go straight on the AH. Not a bad amount of gold there. Not a bad night! So I went around to all the spawn points and couldn't find him. My bf and I did a dungeon, then as we went around searching for Sambas, we were at two opposite sides of the map and he told me Sambas was right underneath him! I thought he was joking but sure enough, there it was. An alliance mage was there trying to kill it, and a horde hunter I'm horde also was trying to tame it but failed.. I think because he was level 83 and Sambas is 85 LOL. I hit tame beast 2 times and it failed.

The hunter decided to just try and kill Sambas, so I was literally one kill shot away from being able to kill him as the hunter and alliance mage were dpsing him down.

Sambas ignored the alliance mage and jumped on me. I hit tame beast and praaayed he would be mine! My heart was racing so hard haha.

I believe it to be a 6 hr spawn timer. Comment by invictis The long hunt is finally over. I spent a majority of my time camping on the plateau as I've heard that's his most common spawn point. But who knows.

Anyways, after taking a meal break, I logged back in. Nothing up north so I decided to make a quick lap to the other 4 spawn points. I spin my trusty griffin west and head towards Kirthaven. Coming down off the mountain I have virtually no hope of finding him since it's pm server and prime time hunting is going on. I nearly fell off my seat when npcscan started blaring! My first instinct was that it must be someone's pet.
